Meicen builds the wing board from a carbon fibre shell over a foam core, which adds stability while keeping attenuation low, and the set-up itself is simple and comfortable. Holding the patient's arms up helps secure the intended radiotherapy effect, and the board is compatible with the T and U grips and with the Meicen Supine Breast Board. Put together with a T-shaped or wing board vacuum bag, headrests and a lock bar, it forms a complete arrangement for breast and upper body treatment positioning. Meicen notes that wing boards are often used when radiation is being delivered to the chest area.

The arm support cushions are shaped ergonomically for patient comfort and may be used on their own or together with the C-Series and Y-Series baseplates. Hand grips adjust easily, which sharpens both the accuracy and the comfort of repeat set-ups. A quick-lock design drops the cushions into Meicen baseplates and an indexed slot fixes them to CT couchtops.
