Vacuum ultraviolet excitation system giving continuous wavelength selection from 110 nm upwards, using a continuous wave deuterium source with a specially designed nanosecond flashlamp for lifetime measurement. The path from excitation monochromator to sample is evacuated through a light guide and the sample area is flushed, because air absorbs at these wavelengths.

Single wavelength continuous wave lasers supplied for applications such as semiconductor research, directed through a port in the spectrometer onto the sample. They are used where the excitation must be a monochromatic beam of steady intensity rather than a pulse.
Filter based vacuum ultraviolet excitation accessory consisting of a deuterium lamp, power supply and magnesium fluoride window, providing excitation around 160 nm. Filter options select the excitation band. It is used for scintillator and phosphor work where excitation must be below the range of a normal xenon source.
These laser engines are self-contained and fully integrated with internal electronics, and Coherent state that ARM-based firmware simplifies external software control and remote monitoring.
