A phantom for end to end testing of patient treatment verification, built from two slabs of Plastic Water and measuring 29 x 32 x 5 cm. It takes Gafchromic EBT3P film, which is pre punched to match the phantom's registration pins so the film can only be loaded in one orientation, and it indexes to CT and treatment couches with a standard two pin indexing bar.
An unlaminated radiochromic film, meaning the top layer is omitted so the active chemistry is exposed. Ashland states it is intended primarily for low energy photon and electron detection, research work, high dose dosimetry and sterilisation applications, with a dose range up to 1000 Gy.
Ashland builds Gafchromic film for fast, highly accurate radiotherapy measurement, and the EBT4 grade covers the dose range from 0.2 to 10Gy. Indications published for it include IMRT, VMAT and brachytherapy. Read with Film QA Pro software, which Ashland calls the best interpreter of Gafchromic films, the film yields a complete and accurate dosimetric measurement, while instant high resolution images give the data integrity that reassures physicist and patient alike. Sheet, ballcube, AQA and XLT formats are each ordered under their own Ashland product code.
